Charge Cards in Tekmetric — Without Leaving the Repair Order

Payment Bridge is a Chrome extension that reads the open repair order or estimate in Tekmetric and auto-fills the charge amount in a side panel. Click once — the amount goes to your Dejavoo card terminal. The customer taps or inserts. Approved payment details come back to the panel. No retyping. No switching tabs. No leaving Tekmetric.

At a glance
  • Works with Tekmetric repair orders and open estimates
  • Sends the charge directly to your Dejavoo terminal — no manual entry
  • Card data is handled only by your terminal’s encrypted hardware
  • Most shops are live within 48 hours of the kickoff call
Walk-through

Tekmetric card payment, in plain English

The repair is done. The customer is at the counter. Your service advisor has the repair order open in Tekmetric — exactly like any other day.

Payment Bridge reads the total from the active Tekmetric page and loads it into the side panel automatically. The advisor clicks once to send the charge. Your Dejavoo terminal activates. The customer taps or inserts their card.

When the card clears, the approved amount, payment method, and reference number appear in the side panel. The advisor closes the repair order. The whole sequence happens without opening another tab, switching to a separate app, or typing a single digit.

  • No mistyped invoice amounts at the register
  • No switching between Tekmetric and a separate payment screen
  • Cleaner end-of-day reconciliation — RO number captured with every charge

How it works

From open repair order to approved charge — in four steps

Payment Bridge slots into the workflow your service advisors already know. Nothing changes in Tekmetric. The extension runs in the background and activates when needed.

1

Open the repair order

Your service advisor navigates to the repair order or estimate in Tekmetric — the same as any other checkout.

2

Amount auto-filled

Payment Bridge reads the total and RO number from the active Tekmetric page and loads them into the side panel. No typing required.

3

Send to the terminal

The advisor clicks “Charge.” The amount goes to your Dejavoo card terminal. The customer taps, swipes, or inserts their card.

4

Approval details returned

Approved amount, payment method, and reference number appear in the side panel. Close the repair order. Done.

What you get

Built for Tekmetric shops. Runs on hardware you already own.

⌨️

No retyping amounts

The repair order total is read directly from the active Tekmetric page. Your service advisor enters zero digits at the register.

🖥

No tab-switching

The side panel lives inside the browser. Advisors stay in Tekmetric from start to finish — no separate payment app to manage.

👤

PIN per employee

Each sub-user gets a role — cashier or service advisor — and an optional 6-digit PIN for shared front-desk workstations.

🖨

No new hardware

Payment Bridge works with the Dejavoo terminal your shop already trusts. No swap, no lease, no new equipment to learn.

📋

RO number captured

Every charge is tagged with the Tekmetric repair order number, so end-of-day reconciliation matches without manual lookups.

📞

Fast US-based support

If something doesn’t look right at 4:45 on a Friday, we respond fast — usually within hours, always within 24 hours.

Tekmetric-specific

How Payment Bridge reads Tekmetric repair orders

Payment Bridge reads the repair order total and repair order number from whichever Tekmetric page is active in the browser tab. If a finalized repair order is open, that total is used as the charge amount.

If the estimate view is open — because the customer is paying before the final invoice is generated — Payment Bridge reads the estimate total instead. In both cases, the correct amount populates the side panel automatically and the repair order number is captured with the charge.

Service advisors do not need to know which view is active. Payment Bridge detects it and loads the right number. The workflow is identical either way.

FAQ

Common questions about Tekmetric payment processing

Which payment terminals work with Payment Bridge for Tekmetric?

Payment Bridge currently supports Dejavoo card terminals. The Chrome extension sends the charge amount and repair order number from Tekmetric to the Dejavoo terminal over your local network. No additional hardware is required beyond the Dejavoo terminal your shop already uses.

Can multiple service advisors use Payment Bridge on different workstations?

Yes. Payment Bridge supports multiple sub-users under one shop account. Each workstation runs the Chrome extension independently. Each employee can be assigned a cashier or service-advisor role, with an optional 6-digit PIN for shared front-desk computers. Your Tekmetric seat count does not affect how many Payment Bridge users you can configure.

Does Payment Bridge store or see card numbers when processing payments?

No. Payment Bridge never handles card data. The extension reads the repair order total from Tekmetric and sends the dollar amount to your Dejavoo terminal. The customer’s card is swiped, tapped, or inserted directly on the terminal’s encrypted hardware. Card numbers are never seen or stored by the Payment Bridge extension or its backend.

How long does it take to set up Payment Bridge with Tekmetric?

Most shops process their first live transaction within 48 hours of the kickoff call. Setup includes account creation, sub-user configuration, terminal pairing, and a live screen-share walkthrough with your team. We don’t consider setup done until your advisors have run a real charge.

What does Payment Bridge read if a Tekmetric estimate is open instead of the final repair order?

Payment Bridge reads whichever view is active in the browser tab. If the finalized repair order is open, it uses the repair order total. If an estimate is open — because the customer is paying before a final invoice is generated — Payment Bridge reads the estimate total instead. The repair order number is captured in either case. No manual entry is required.
